In March 2017 Kanye West Collaborated with Adidas not unusual, and not unusually the end product created a massive amount of internet buzz, what was unusual for many however was that it wasn’t a Yeezy Boost. Inspired by the 1980s the OG Yeezy Powerphase Calabasas was that very shoe, channelling inspiration from Reebok classics and Adidas Gazelles this kick has found its niche in the market for something entirely different to the Yeezy Boost silhouettes we were coming all too accustomed to. These sneakers feature an off-white buttery leather that enhances the sneakers vintage vibe and takes us to a much more reminiscent and less groundbreaking place, and after all, there has never been anything wrong with tribute acts. This kick is for someone who wants to be in the Yeezy conversation but is rooted in more traditional trainer cliches, a homage to a simpler time, one just as stylish as the here and now.
